Just a few of the possibilities!
And now for something completely different! The Atwood Tac Strap is a new concept for compact gear carry. These straps are made of tough polypropylene webbing, double thickness, 1.5" wide by 7.5" with the clip when fully stretched out, 5" when the clip is folded over. The slip sheath style pocket measures nearly 4" deep by 1" wide. The threads are nylon and are fully reinforced along stress points.

After exhaustive searching and testing I found these cool carabiner style clips. Made of acetal, they are super durable, lightweight and quiet. In addition, when they bang against your keys they will not mark up like a metal clip. The stainless steel wire gate is very strong and snappy and is on a par with the best rock climbing gear. The whole clip swivels 360 degrees and features a wide throat for ease of attachment. Clip them on your keys, your belt or gear pack.

These are heavy duty items yet weigh in at only .9 ounces. The pockets are stiff and tight at first but will soften up a little over time and become quite comfortable. I recommend starting out with items that have a lanyard attached so you can easily retrieve your gear. Sheath will get easier to use as it wears a bit.

What can you use them for? The most obvious application is as a key strap. Keep any number of items with you at all times. List of possible objects that could be stored in the 1.5" wide unit includes:

Prybaby, mini Bic lighter, Leatherman Micra, spare AA battery (wrapped in plastic baggie), 2 spare CR123 batteries, Arc AA flashlight, shiv style knife, Fisher space pen, emergency cash, small spy capsule, Swiss Army Money clip or mini knife, chapstick and many other items. If you want a softer padded feel to the strap you could carry a plastic baggie with a pair of rubber gloves in it or a spare handkerchief.

The 2" wide model is here and can hold even more including slim folding knives, a Fenix, Gerber Infinity or similar AA flashlight and much more.

Clipped to your belt, the unit can swing freely or you can tuck it into a pocket. Another option is to carry it in your waist band and swing the clip up over your pant waist where it will attach to your belt loop for security.

Another interesting application is as an emergency defensive tool. When fully loaded with keys the strap makes for an effective flail. It can also be quickly detached from the keys and used as an impromptu impact device.

A commonly asked question is whether or not my Micro Bug Out Bar will fit inside the 2 inch Tac Strap and the answer is not really. It is a little bit too long for the pocket.

Two inchers are SOLD OUT. Thanks.
